(June 21st 2026) To mark the anniversary of the opening of Tallaght University Hospital opening, 125 employees of the Hospital received their anniversary pin celebrating their 25th year of working at the Hospital, a collective 3,125 years of service.
The recognition programme, started on June 21st 2023, the Hospitals 25th anniversary of opening, provides the Hospital and its employees with a moment in time to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the extraordinary contribution they make every day.
Those receiving their pins this year represent the full breadth of the Hospital’s workforce with colleagues working across nursing, portering, doctors, administrative services, catering, radiology, technical services, laboratory medicine, social work, and Sterile Services represented. Their combined experience reflects the teamwork and collaboration that underpin the Hospital’s ability to deliver high‑quality patient care.
Commenting on the presentation Barbara Keogh Dunne, Chief Executive of the Hospital said: “In a busy hospital environment, it is important to pause and make achievements like this, to acknowledge the dedication, compassion and professionalism that shape the care we provide. These service pins are more than symbols, they represent years of care and commitment. They reminds us of the people who have built this hospital, supported our patients, and upheld our values for a quarter of a century. We are deeply grateful for the impact each of them has made.”
Presenting the service pins alongside the CEO, Sharon Larkin, Director of HR commented,“A 25‑year milestone reflects a career of growth, learning, and contribution. It is important that we acknowledge the people behind them. We remain committed to supporting career development, wellbeing, and professional progression, and today we celebrate the dedication and expertise each of our colleagues have brought to our hospital throughout their career.”
Since the programme began in 2023, 606 colleagues have reached this milestone, representing an exceptional 15,150 years of collective service.
Tallaght University Hospital opened on June 21st 1998.
